Art Cars going Nowhere

A mobile artwork, sound system and rolling excuse to make new friends. We built art cars in Amsterdam, drove them to Nowhere and discovered that getting there really is half the point.

No Mad Makers

What started as workshops turning discarded refugee boats into bags grew into an organisation of its own. I helped found it, shape the story and turn a viral moment into something that could keep moving.

Nachtlab Agency

Years of pitches, concepts, toolkits and copy for an agency specialising in nightlife and live experience. I came in as the writer and gradually became one of the people helping shape the ideas themselves.

Piratenpartij

No budget, no local organisation and privacy policy that desperately needed attention. I devised two Amsterdam election stunts designed to earn their media coverage the Pirate way: by making the abstract impossible to ignore.

ADEV: Amsterdam Danst Ergens Voor

Using Amsterdam Dance Event as the occasion for a street protest in the form of a rave. An annual reminder that dance culture came out of subcultures that are now under threat.

Surprise Party for the Police

We disagreed with the police losing their free Sundays, so we called them to complain about ourselves. Then we greeted the officers with a mobile sound system, confetti and a surprise party.

BabyBurn – Dutch Regional Burn

No fences, no tickets, no spectators and barely any budget. We started an Amsterdam regional Burn so the culture of Burning Man could exist a little closer to home, entirely through participation.

GVB Metro Rave

Our mobile sound system needed publicity; Amsterdam public transport workers needed support. The obvious solution was a rave on the metro, which became much bigger than anyone, including the GVB, had planned.

Vrijdagavond @ Van Gogh Museum

An art project about women’s emancipation led to a museum performance about the awkwardness of being a male advertising creative talking about women’s emancipation. So I made that awkwardness the work.

Pillow Fight Day on Dam Square

No sponsor, no permit, no complicated programme. Just hundreds of people, a pile of pillows and Amsterdam’s most symbolic square reclaimed for the friendliest fight we could organise.
